R & N BSAC General Training Information

The club runs all the initial training itself and this comprises of lectures and pool training sessions which are followed by open water training dives. Both the lectures and pool seesions are held at Location Map

The open water dives are done at various locations including Littleton Lake, Stoney Cove, and Brighton.

If you have any queries regarding training then please contact either the Club Training Officer or Club Diving Officer.

All lectures normally start at 19:40 hrs and are held in a room at Highgrove Swimming pool. Any exceptions to this should be given to the course attendees at the preceding lecture.

All pool sessions start at 21:00 hrs at Highgrove, with club members meeting at the pool from 20:30 hrs onwards.

If required club members can approach any of the Instructors within the branch for help or advice with their training.

Apart from the courses run internally by the club, your diving can be enhanced by taking some of the BSAC Skill Development Courses (SDCs). Some of these SDCs are now mandatory courses that are required if you want to progress to Dive Leader and beyond.
